KING BISCUIT - hypnotic songs -
The hypnotic rock of King Biscuit is inspired by the world’s constant rhythmic pulse, by the ebb and flow of the waves that control our heartbeats, by the growl of train carriages that lead to the sway of bodies. It is the manifestation of a long story that will forever continue to be told – the three members of King Biscuit bring forth new ways to tell it. Johan Guidou’s luscious synth layers burrow into the earth, only to draw and trap listeners in. Tatiana Mladenovitch’s drums echo the faint dance steps of a resilient boxer. The sharpness of Sylvain Choinier’s guitar slices the dried mud that borders the Mississippi river into thin slivers, while his voice threads unforgettable melodies into its soil. The bodies of its three musicians become the conduits of an electric current from which flows out a trance-like music.

Le rock hypnotique du groupe King Biscuit est l'héritier de la pulsation perpétuelle du monde, du flux et reflux des marées aux battements de cœur et du grondement des locomotives jusqu'à la danse des corps. C'est une longue histoire qui n'est pas prête de s'achever et les chansons de King Biscuit en proposent de nouvelles incarnations. Les claviers y déposent leurs nappes de sirop acide pour y creuser trous et chausses trappes. La batterie semblent les légers pas de danse d'un boxeur infatigable. La guitare lapidaire découpe en fines lamelles la boue séchée de berges du Mississippi tandis que son chant y accroche des mélodies entêtantes. Leurs trois corps en mouvement deviennent les conducteurs d'un influx électrique d'où jaillit une musique de transe.
